I think it"s an in-game joke...due to the fact that there is no other place in the whole game where Lara can sit down.

There"s more than one chair. There is at least 3 that I know of and there is an acheivment for sitting in one. "Best Seat in the House" IIRC. I think that is triggered by sitting in one particular chair that is in a more obscure place from what I remember in my playthrough.

I don"t know.....are you sure? what I mean is I"ve been thru the main story quite a few times and never have seen more than the one Lara can actually sit in.....if there are they must be in some really secluded area.
There"s more than one place you can sit. Do you have the "Quiet Time" acheivement? No...I don"t see it in my list, actually my achievement list only is at %62...:)
Well there is a chair in Geothermal Valley which if you sit in you will get the Quiet Time acheivement. All I will say is it gives you a good view of the lake and the tower
